There are a lot of things I’m picky about and how I fuel is one of them. While I am indeed a Beachbody coach, I will fully admit that it took this opportunity through BibRave to actually try them. A vegan, I knew I wouldn’t be into anything with whey. Thankfully, I had a couple of coworkers who were game to try the Recover and Recharge formulas.
Nicquie is a go-getter who never stops. She boxes, runs, surfs, hikes and all with incredible vigor. Her review below of the Recover formula says it all.
I used to think that being a little sore after a workout was normal even with my protein shake during the day. However, since I have been using the product I wake with no soreness and I am ready for the next crazy workout or 2, Joy puts me through. My muscles feel more “responsive”if that makes sense. Plus, the taste is incredible! It’s not too fake tasting and it’s not too sweet. I love it so much I am even thinking about purchasing more once I run out. I honestly didn’t know it possible not to have soreness or stiffness after multiple workouts or super hard workouts. It has been life changing to not have to worry if I am going to sleep well because of my muscle soreness or tingling. It really has been great.
Gabriella is a force to be reckoned with. She’s an incredible artist, designer and badass soccer player who’s finding a new groove when it comes to workouts. We chatted a bit and she said she’d not only never tried anything like the Recharge before, but that it seemed to give her a bit of a boost after hard tabata workouts at work (because that’s how we do in our office) and after soccer.
The Hydrate formula, while a scary color, definitely went down easy and did the job on runs, but it’s much sweeter than I’m used to as a normal Skratch user. I found that mixing it with mineral water resulted in what I’ve lovingly dubbed “Runner’s soda,” basically in that it’s sweet and bubbly, but it’s run-ready. Instead, I focused mostly on trying the preworkout Energize formula, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know it was most definitely a source of “zoomies” and “oops too fast” training runs. I plan on using it before my goal race on April 2nd.
I felt pep without feeling overly fluttery (you know, that too-many-RedBulls, am-I-old-enough-for-a-heart-attack feeling?) I didn’t crash, didn’t cramp from caffeine and also didn’t crash! Did I mention I didn’t crash? I will definitely be adding it more regularly to my rotation.
